Margaret-Ann in the BVI

Sue and I travelled to Tortola in the British Virgin Islands to attend the wedding of John and Elaine on June 27th, 2008.

The front of The Sugar Mill Hotel, Tortola, BVI. This was the location of John and Elaine's wedding, built on the former site of the Appleby Plantation. Only one wall remains of the original Great House. The stones in the walls of the restaurant date back to the 1600's when ships sailing from the Caribbean loaded with sugar and rum would return with cobble stones and slabs off the streets of Liverpool, used to ballast the empty ships on the trip home.

Looking out over Little Apple Bay towards Jost Van Dyke, home of the famous Foxy's Beach Bar, where Foxy is often in attendance to entertain the lunchtime visitors.

Looking down the road from "Islands", the beach restaurant of The Sugar Mill Hotel, towards the infamous Bomba Shack, located just below the homes perched in the side of the hill. Vicki and I walked along this road and over the hill to the next beach, Long Bay Beach. The hill follows along in between the homes at sea level and those further up the hill.

The minister performs the wedding ceremony with the Caribbean Sea providing the beautiful backdrop.

William on Father's Day

Jeremy, Jennifer and Will dropped in for Father's Day. Will played quietly on his favorite blanket while we all had a nice visit.

William at 4 Months - March 23, 2008

Margaret-Ann and I were thrilled to welcome our grandson, William, to our house for the first time for Easter. He brought his parents, Jeremy and Jennifer, along too. Also joining us were his Aunt and Uncle, Meredith and Michael. I think a good time was had by all, but we'll let William give us his view.

So this is Gran and Grandad's house. Not bad. Tell me Dad, will my hands really be as big as yours one day.

But not for long. It's party time!

Maybe they won't know it's me if I used the old fake beard trick.

Uncle Mike and Aunt Meredith, do you really think I'm old enough for wine?

Now that's comfortable. I'm giving Uncle Mike's lap a big thumbs up.
