Europe Day 5 – August 24th

22 Celsius and Sun & Cloud

This is the fifth of twenty posts documenting Margaret-Ann and John’s 2011 trip to Europe.

Early on day five, Margaret-Ann, John, Rudi and Barbara took the Métro and a bus to Versailles, a suburb of Paris, some 20 kilometres southwest of the French capital. Here they toured the Palace of Versailles; an audio guided tour of the Chateau and then a walk through the immense and very impressive gardens.

Then it was back to Paris and a trip up the 59-story Tour Montparnasse for a 360-degree view of the City.

After a wonderful dinner at the courtyard restaurant of the hotel, Les Jardins du Marais, the group headed out again; this time for an amazing evening (10:00 p.m.) cruise on the Seine – the Tour Eiffel lit up at night was spectacular.

And so ended day five of Margaret-Ann and John’s 2011 European trip. Keep checking the blog for more postings of this trip.
