25 Celsius and Sun & Cloud
This is the sixth of twenty posts documenting Margaret-Ann and John’s 2011 trip to Europe.
Early on day six, Margaret-Ann, John, Rudi and Barbara took the Métro to Notre Dame and took another Discover Walks tour; this time of the Left Bank and Latin Quarter area of Paris – including the Shakespeare And Company book store, the Sorbonne University and the Panthéon.
After lunch, Margaret-Ann and Barbara headed out to do some serious shopping (it’s in the genes). John and Rudi walked through the Père Lachaise cemetery (seeing the monuments for Marcel Proust, Oscar Wilde, Edith Piaf and Jim Morrison), then walked through the Parc des Buttes Chaumont and finally went to the Parc de la Villette before returning to the hotel.
Finished shopping, Margaret-Ann took the Discover Walks tour of the Marais area, then met the rest of the group for another great dinner in the courtyard restaurant of Les Jardins du Marais hotel.
And so ended day six of Margaret-Ann and John’s 2011 European trip. Keep checking the blog for more postings of this trip.
